The Galaata Idol quarterfinals made for a great afternoon of music. That a crowd of almost 200 people stayed for most of a 5 hour performance was a testament to the quality of the performances.

The great performances also made the job of the judges very difficult. But after much deliberation here is the short list of 6 semifinalists

  Orange stickers in the male column will be considered a disqualified vote as these are people who came in late and are sneaking a vote :-)

If writing an email, please remember to include your Name, Phone #, Preferred date for Qualifying round (see dates above) & Language (Hindi/Tamil).

Galaata IDOL will have 4 preliminary rounds followed by quarter finals on 3/26 and semi finals & finals on Galaata day (April 15th).

Rules

• Participants must be 15 years or older

• Participants must select a song either in Tamil or Hindi from a movie and must be able to sing the initial part + 1 stanza of the song though judges may chose to stop the participant at any point

• All participants must sing solo. No accompaniments will be allowed in the qualifying round. For subsequent rounds participants need to get karaoke tracks for the song they intend to sing

• All rounds will be video recorded. By registering for the event, participants agree to allow Udavum Karangal to use these videos as they see fit
